Some of you might ask why do I write and tweet about porn so much.

The reason is simple. I struggled with porn for a long time and now I want to help people who still do, break free from this addiction. As a Christian when I hear stats like 50% of Christian families admitting that porn has been an issue in their homes, it makes me wonder just how much porn is a problem in the Church. When almost the same amounts of Pastors admit that they have looked at porn while working I don’t really need to wonder too much more.

Two of the things that people who aren’t Christians often accuse Christians of being is judgmental and hypocrites. Can we blame them? We preach about living holy lives while in the privacy of our own bedroom we are sitting staring at porn for hours.

For a few years I have been working with xxxchurch who before anyone was willing to talk about this during a Sunday service, were going out into porn shows and sharing Jesus love with the adult industry. Who were willing to stand up in Churches and address the elephant in the pew, while helping Churches deal with the issue right on their doorstep.

We believe porn is an issue that arises from our hearts. You can legislate porn as much as you want. You can make sure governments implement laws that stop porn being distributed into your home. You can write letters to hotels asking them to stop selling porn movies in their rooms.

But at the end of the day none of this will stop people looking at porn. If we want something enough we will find a way. And porn is no different.

Today many of you will go to Church. I’m pretty confident that not many of you will hear your Pastor preach about porn this morning. At xxxchurch we are bringing the message to the UK this year and we will joining with Churches who are ready to tackle porn in their congregations.
