“Love That’s Given Freely, it doesn’t die. It only changes” – Glen Hansard
If I’m being completely honest I was a little frightened going in for the obligatory handshake line that concludes each soccer game every Tuesday night. I would have to come fact to face and shake the hand of my soccer nemesis from two weeks ago.
Look, I’m not the best with conflict. I have tried to avoid it at almost every stage of my life and when I do find myself, conflicting? I’m a blustering mess. My blood boils, my heart rate rises and I try to stay calm, but it never really turns out that way.
This time though, it felt a little different somewhow. Continue reading
I love Twitter. Even with it’s increase in character limit I still love it. Unconditional love and all that.
But I also hate Twitter.
First, here’s why I love Twitter. Continue reading
After another mass shooting in the USA, we’re left with the same questions and very little in the way of answers. Where do we move from here? Continue reading
Writing is a gift that pretty much all of us have available to give to the world. We can write something and immediately make it available to every single human on the planet. Think about that for a second.
Sometimes I think to myself, “I love to write”. But that is just not true most of the time. What I do feel though, is that if I don’t write I will die. Not a literal death of course, unless I have some sort of bizarre mishap with a pen or bleed out profusely from an unintended paper cut. Continue reading

But I don’t agree. At least not entirely. What I think is the greatest gift of all can actually be the greatest act of Love that you can give anyone.
What is that gift? Continue reading
If I was going to write a book about procrastination or how to deal with writer’s block it would be very short and it would include only one rule.
When stuck, write a list blog.
So this is what I am doing today, because sometimes you’ve just got to get some words down.
Actually! Better still, I’m going to make this a new blog series, which means I don’t have to think of any new ideas for at least a few weeks.
Bingo!
So, let’s get started! Continue reading
There is a worship song that used to be pretty popular called, “One Way Jesus” which went “One Way. Je-sus”, funnily enough.
It’s got a pretty catchy hook and I remember hearing it for the first time many years ago and quite liking the tune. I didn’t really take too much notice of the words though.
Many popular worship songs have this same message of Jesus being the only thing we really need. He’s all we’ll ever need. And there is no way to get to God, than through Jesus.
Or is there?
Walking up the steps and out of the tube station in London for the very first time when I was 11 or 12 and seeing the TDK and Coca Cola lights advertising on the board at Piccadilly Circus was one of the most profound moments in my life. Continue reading
