Is this what Jesus had in mind?

Is this what you had in mind when you signed up?

Is it better or worse than you imagined?

Have you been hurt?

Have you been told you are wrong?

Have you felt out of place?

Have you been told what to believe?

Does someone keep telling you not to say those things?

Are you tired of keeping quiet?

Are you tired of the same songs?

Are you allowed to be creative but then told to change it?

Have you had enough?

The good news is that this is not all there is. The church is bigger and better than we have created it to be. The way we have done things is not church. You and I are the church. Your voice is important and we want to hear it.

The good news is that there are others like us. Others who want more than a Jesus of slogans, and guilt trips into not doing enough for Him. A community who are tired of being told who can be in and who can’t. People who want to break free from a club and into a life with each other and anyone else who wants to be. 

The good news is that however it feels right now there is more. There is less hatred and anger. More Love and Grace. This is not a call to a fresh movement. It’s not a call to get back to what Jesus “really” meant.

It’s simply an announcement that there is more than what you can see. It is better.

There is Peace for everyone.

I think maybe this is what Jesus had in mind.
